Innovative algorithms for diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease

The article presents the characteristics of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and its complications - Barrett's esophagus (SB). Modern methods of endoscopic diagnosis of SB are presented: video esophagogastroscopy in white light, in a narrowband spectrum, magnifying endoscopy, chromoendoscopy. Modern classifications of GERD, SB are given. The role of biopsy and results of morphological research in the diagnosis of SB with the establishment of morphological types of metaplasia - cardiac, fundal and specialized intestinal metaplasia is shown. The main points of tactics of management of patients with SB are defined. An algorithm for the diagnosis and treatment of GERD, SB.
