Neuroendocrine tumors (carcinoids) of the stomach and intestine - early diagnosis and minimally invasive endoscopic interventions

Neuroendocrine tumors of the stomach and intestines are rare diseases. The growing incidence and complexity of the diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors of the gastrointestinal tract determines the urgency of the problem. On the basis of the Medical Center "Universal Clinic" Oberig "for 2009-2013, 8 cases of neuroendocrine tumors were diagnosed: 2 (25%) in the stomach, 2 (25%) - in the duodenum, 2 (25%) - in the small intestine. , 1 (12.5%) - in the ascending colon, 1 (12.5%) - in the rectum. It is shown that morphological evaluation of endoscopic mucosal biopsies is an effective way to diagnose neuroendocrine tumors. These endoscopic surgical methods allow to obtain advanced material for morphological diagnosis and are an adequate method of removing neuroendocrine tumors.
