UPD December 25, 2024: Dear patients, we inform you that the recruitment of patients for this study is OVER!
The medical center "Universal Clinic "Oberig" employs doctors who have experience in working with such a rare disease as systemic mastocytosis.
Mastocytosis is characterized by excessive growth and accumulation of specialized cells (mast cells/mast cells) in various organs, primarily in the skin.
TYPES OF MASTOCYTOSIS:
There are two main types of mastocytosis:
Systemic mastocytosis comes in several types: from milder forms (indolent and slowly progressive), to more serious ones that can progress rapidly and affect life expectancy (aggressive systemic mastocytosis, systemic mastocytosis with associated hematological neoplasms, mast cell leukemia).
The main symptoms and manifestations of systemic mastocytosis:
A biopsy of the skin, bone marrow, and/or gastric or intestinal mucosa is used for diagnosis. Additionally, the cKIT mutation may be determined.
The 2021 NCCN guidelines for the treatment of indolent and slowly progressive systemic mastocytosis include antihistamines (antiallergic) and emphasize the possibility of enrolling the patient in clinical trials due to the low efficacy of standard therapy. Patients may also be prescribed antidepressants, osteoporosis drugs, or stomach medications to treat associated symptoms.
Systemic Mastocytosis: Clinical Trials
Universal Clinic Oberig Medical Center is one of 2 centers in Ukraine where an international research program for the treatment of systemic mastocytosis is underway. People from all over Ukraine come to our center who want to receive innovative treatment for this disease.
If you have a disease such as systemic mastocytosis or cutaneous mastocytosis (with possible suspicion of systemicity), which is difficult to treat with traditional treatment, contact our call center or fill out a short form and we will definitely contact you. If you are a doctor and want to learn more about the possibility of treating patients with systemic mastocytosis, please mark the form “I am a doctor” so that we can provide more information.
