Restoration of swallowing and speech after stroke

A person after a stroke may have a communication disorder: it is often difficult to express their feelings and emotions, difficult to speak, and sometimes swallow.

• Speech therapists of our Stroke Center help patients to restore speech and speech functions.
• We socialize patients and select alternative methods of communication.

• We improve cognitive abilities: memory, attention, thinking.
• A separate area of work of speech therapists is help patients with swallowing disorders (dysphagia). We form an individual recovery plan by teaching patients with a tracheostomy tube to breathe and swallow on their own.
