Infants:
Shorten the last episode of sleep before the examination by about half. Try to book the appointment at the time of the child's usual sleep. The child should be on an empty stomach so that you can feed him directly during the appointment, which distracts the child from the procedure and makes it easier to fall asleep.
Older children and adults:
The night before the examination, you should reduce the amount of sleep to half the usual duration. Go to bed at the usual time, get up accordingly early. Before the examination, there should be a period of wakefulness from 3 hours (for children) to 8 hours (for adults). It is advisable to book the procedure at the time of the usual sleep for children and afternoon time for adults. You should come to the procedure well-fed.
If desired, you can bring personal accessories for sleep - toys, pillows, underwear, etc.
It should be remembered that sleep deprivation increases the likelihood of epileptic seizures.
