Center for Liver, Pancreas and Transplant Surgery

We are the first and only private clinic in Ukraine that performs liver transplants - such an extremely demanding intervention.

To carry out such operations, the staff of the Liver Surgery Center studied in surgical centers in the USA, Japan, Korea, and France. The head of the Center, Oleg Kotenko, has experience in more than 12 thousand surgical interventions on the abdominal and retroperitoneal organs, including more than 2.5 thousand liver resections, more than 180 liver transplants from a living related donor.

The aim of the Center is to provide comprehensive high-tech surgical care for patients with pathologies of the liver, pancreas and biliary tract.

The uniqueness is that our specialists work in three specialties at once - surgery, oncology, transplantology. They also provide assistance to both adults and children in one place. Only the rational use of surgical, oncological and transplant technologies makes it possible to cure a patient and get a positive result.

• "Enblock" liver resection with caudal lobe, portal vein and hepatic artery in Klatskin's tumors (Yuji Nimura, Nagoya, Japan)
• Liver resection with portal vein in primary liver cancer and tumor thrombosis of the portal vein (Y. Yamaoka, Kyoto, Japan)
• Liver resection with the inferior vena cava and its prosthetics in case of tumor invasion or thrombosis in hepatocellular carcinoma or cholangiocarcinoma (Y. Yamaoka, Kyoto, Japan)
• Mesenterical approach of hepatopancreatoduodenectomy with resection and plastic of the portal vein for cancer of the pancreatic head (Akimasa Nakao, Nagoya, Japan)
• Transplantation of a part of the liver from a living related donor (K. Tanaka, Kyoto, Japan)
• Liver resection "In vivo ex situ" with washing and conservation with Kustadiol and reimplantation using transplant technologies (R. Pichlmayr, Hannover, Germany)
• Two-piece liver transplant from two living related donors (S.G. Lee, Korea)
• Preoperative transhepatic portal vein branch embolization (M. Makuuchi, Tokyo, Japan)
• Preoperative transhepatic bile duct drainage (Y. Kamia, Nagoya, Japan)

Center staff for the first time in Ukraine performed transplantation of the right lobe of the liver from a living related donor to an adult (2000), the left lateral section to a child (2005), and a pancreas to an adult (2007).
